***Reigns: Her Majesty has just been crowned with the new Transformation Update with over 200 new cards, new characters, and new ways for her majesty to meet her demise!*** Reigns: Her Majesty is the revolutionary follow-up to the smash swipe ‘em up hit Reigns. A cultural renaissance has bestowed the world with a new era of knowledge and enlightenment but greed and jealousy still conspire against the benevolent queen. Outwit and outlast those that would seek to depose you and your husband by swiping left or right, making just (or unjust) decisions on all manner of royal matters. Maintain the balance between the kingdom’s most powerful factions, use mystical items from your inventory, and navigate the increasingly complex politics and personal relationships of your dynasty. New Kingdom, New Drama: Your royal decrees and unpredictable requests of the people will shape both your time on the throne and the future of your dynasty. Carefully navigate the foolish politics and emotional pleas of the kingdom’s eccentric subjects to find balance between the most powerful factions of the land. Mystical Inventory: Find and upgrade five special items in a new inventory system. Use your powerful items on character cards and unlock special paths in the ever more complex narrative of your kingdom. Royal Challenges: Reach specific goals set before each new monarch’s reign to unlock new sets of cards and new directions to take the story of your dynasty. Nerial and Friends: Reigns: Her Majesty is a collaboration between François Alliot (design/programming), Arnaud de Bock (art), Jim Guthrie (music), and Leigh Alexander (narrative director).

This is really fun! I love choose your own adventure titles, and the backstory and hidden quests make it interesting. I give 4 stars because of a minor design flaw; the game does not have an efficient way to pause, and when I swipe up to access menu items on my phone it makes a choice in-game, kinda annoying. If there was a way to pause or freeze the screen the game would be perfect!

I loved the first game. I like some of the new mechanics, it allows for more things to happen. It's more then just a few new cards. However, there are a few things wrong. The dueling system is quirky at best. When you understand it, it becomes way too easy. I also came across some technical problems. After turning the frog into the princess, you can still find a frog. Using the book will not do anything though, and I don't know if it's intentional or not. There is also the bug of losing for no reason. I came across this so much where I lose or gain some resources, then I get a death message when my resources are fine. If I swipe, however, the problem resource spikes up or down to make me lose. This happened so much and it cannot be intentional. Still nice when it works, but the first game was better.

It's ok, but not as good as the first which I really enjoyed. It just seems a bit convoluted at times, where actions don't seem to match up with stat changes so you die much more easily. There also seems to be a bug where sometimes moving the card without choosing it causes a decrease in some stats and can lead to you dying which is frustrating. I'm also completely stuck because a card I need to come up to continue just won't trigger. (Had to look up a walk through to see what was wrong.)

Addictive little mobile game. Trickier than it's predecessor, but the added challenge extends play time. The stylized artwork is enjoyable and fits well with the humorous writing. It can get a bit repetitive after you've played for some time, but the drive to figure out the puzzles on how to beat the game are enjoyable. Overall, a very fun, simple game that's worth the small price.

The biggest flaw with this game seems to be the lack of content; the first hour or so is great, but after that you start seeing the cards repeating and after another hour you can go for 5-10min stretches before you encounter a new card. This isn't helped by the puzzles that require adventuregame-level logic to solve. I recomend picking it up if it looks interesting, but to quit playing if/when it starts getting tiring. (since the endings aren't that great either)

I loved the first one and I love this one! I really like the new additions to the game play to set it apart from the first one. Well worth the money. I did find a bug where used items won't fully return to their slots after using them and won't return all the way until restarting the app. A small thing but it can be annoying. Edit: noticed another bug where max/min death events happen without the bar being completely full or empty

It's hard for me to recommend this game. Since it feels like a slightly modified, slightly more annoying version than the original. Don't get me wrong, i think it's a great game and it still does som great things. But if you wanna try it out, go for the first one. Risking being locked out of an ending because a choice you did hours weeks ago, needing pure RNG because if certain cards don't show up in a specific order you can't progress... It's still a great game, but just a copy of a better one.

A great time killer...but not mindless! It's more of a resource management puzzle game. You pick options not necessarily because you want them but because you need the resource it provides (or takes away). It's all a balancing act. But there are certain times where you need or should pick an option for progression or to solve a puzzle. Lots of practice and your reigns might start pasting a while. Such a neat, simple at first on the surface, but more complicated the longer you play. Love it! ❤

It's a nicely balanced game with interesting mechanics, but I have some bones to pick. It's difficult to understand steps you are supposed to take to advace the game, especially since many events happen every twelve life cycles. Some story cards happen only once, difficult to differentiate between them and normal ones, and gives little room for not choosing right. The ending was very underwhelming and extremely vague, it's an unsatisfying close. And the AUTO ROTATION, it's an absolute pain.

Fun for an hour, but then it becomes just too repetitive and dependent on pure luck to continue the story because you need to get the right cards. At the same time, the points system is annoying and holds back the game to a ridiculous extent because you'll find yourself dying over and over before even getting a chance to continue. Other than that, the writing is fun and charming and I love the art design! I had a blast until the cards and points started being incoherent. Worth the price!

I love this game. On the one hand, the dialogue and characters are witting and charming enough to make the game funny. At the same time, the characters and the dark background lore give this simple game a depth that makes me want to explore every route! I give a 4/5 just because some of the objectives are very cryptic and it makes me wonder if they can only be done by lucky chance (in which case, that'd be too bad). But please PLEASE consider getting this!
